We will prepare all students enrolled at Infinity Early College High School to be college-ready, independent thinkers, and resourceful citizens.

Social-Emotional Learning Commitment

At IECHS, social-emotional learning (SEL) is central to developing the whole student, so we will:

  • Create a community and support network through strong relationships between parents, staff, and students;
  • Empower students to take ownership of their learning and well-being;
  • Foster a safe environment that promotes empathy;
  • Equip all stakeholders with the appropriate strategies to manage social, emotional, and academic stressors.

Accreditation and Recognition

Infinity Early College is accredited as Met Academic Standards and earned an “A” by the Texas Education Agency.  IECHS also received the Texas Honor Roll achievement award for 2017-2018 & 2018-2019.

Community

Spanning 130 square miles, New Caney Independent School District serves the educational needs of New Caney and Porter, Tx. Located in one of the state's fastest growing areas, the district enjoys a diversified economic base. Currently, the district consists of 3 traditional high schools and IECHS, 4 middle schools and 12 elementary schools utilizing a K–5, 6–8, 9–12 grade-level configuration. The student body is culturally diverse with a population that is 74% Hispanic, 14% African American, 10% Caucasian and 2% Asian.

School

In partnership with Lone Star College–Kingwood, Infinity Early College High School is a comprehensive, non-traditional four-year public high school where TSI qualified students can earn both a high school diploma and an Associates, or up to two years of credit toward a Bachelor’s degree. The school opened in the fall of 2013. Maximum enrollment is 500 students.  

Curriculum

The academic program works in conjunction with a typical college day/calendar. Potential 4-6 credits to be earned per semester course load; students attend a M/W=A day and T/TH=B day @ 90 minutes/class.  Friday a.m. students can be found at 1 of 26 sites completing SERVICE LEARNING- one of the 7 Mindsets: “Live to Give.” 
 

These AP® courses offered are: AP World History, AP US History, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology.   AP is an open-enrollment program.
ALL other core courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, & Foreign Language) are Pre-AP or Dual Credit, depending on the grade level and if a student is TSI qualified.

Post High School Placement

  • 82% matriculated to 4-year colleges
  • 13% matriculated to 2-year institutions
  • 5 % selected work, military service or technical instruction
