Service Learning

Welcome to Service Learning!

As part of the TEA ECHS BLUEPRINT, Infinity students are required to participate in some type of service learning activity. The National and Community Service Act of 1990 defines service learning as: “a method under which students or participants learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized service that is conducted in and meets the needs of a community. . . . and that is integrated into and enhances the academic curriculum of the students.”

When is Service Learning?

The Service Learning Program takes place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the following Fridays:

  • September 26th

  • October 24th

  • November 14th

  • January 16th

  • February 6th

  • March 6th

  • April 17th (subject to change based on district scheduling)

Current Sites in the Infinity ECHS Service Learning Program

  • All New Caney ISD Elementary and Middle School campuses, Transportation Department, Technology Department and The Closet

  • Lone Star College

  • Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital 

  • New Horizons Thrift Store and The Village Thrift Store

  • The Village School and Family Time

  • H-town Dream Center, HAAM, and Montgomery Food Bank

  • Water Crest and Sara Care

  • Creativity Shell

  • Lake Houston Wilderness Park, Dennis Johnson Park, Jesse Jones Park, and Mercer Botanical Garden
