LSC Grading

Grading

LSC uses a grading system in which students are assigned a letter grade of A, B, C, D, or F reflecting the student’s performance in a course.

Credit Grade Marks Interpretation Grade Point
A Excellent Performance 4
B Good Performance 3
C Acceptable Performance 2
D Passing (not available for developmental studies courses and some specialized programs) 1
F Failing 0
I Incomplete. Given instructor and dean approval, work must be completed according to the timelines on the I contract but no later than the end of the subsequent fall or spring semester. Failure to complete the work within the specified time will result in an F. A student should not register again for a course in which a mark of I has been given. If the student registers for the course, the I will change to a grade of F. Not Computed

Canvas

Through Canvas, New Caney ISD's learning management system, students are able to access course materials, submit assignments, and view scores and feedback. Parents can use Canvas to view their child's course materials, assignments, and scores, and stay informed about their academic progress. Please note that not all activities (assignments, discussions, and quizzes) in Canvas count for a grade.

NCISD parents and guardians have the option to create a Canvas Parent account to connect to their student's courses in Canvas. The Canvas Parent Portal can be accessed via a web browser or Android/iOS app.

For more information, go to NCISD Digital Learning

Skyward

Skyward Family Access allows parents and guardians to access their child's school-related information, such as grades, attendance, and schedules. In New Caney ISD, it is the official gradebook of record and provides access to progress reports and report cards.

Not all Canvas assignments are listed in Skyward, so it is important to check Skyward for official grades.
